What the Chamber of Commerce Can Offer You

The year 2010 is fast approaching and the 2010 membership drive of the Deshler Chamber of Commerce is underway.  The dues will be $45.00 for the Initial Membership and $30.00 for each additional Associate membership.  Included in the membership fee are two dinner tickets to the annual dinner meeting held in November.  This is included in both the Initial Membership and the Associate Membership.

The Chamber is constantly trying to come up with new ideas for helping to promote Deshler, its businesses and organizations. Some of the things the Chamber of Commerce helps to sponsor each year are; a summer recreation program for the youth of our community, the Halloween parade, a Christmas decorating contest and we continue holding social gatherings.  We are currently looking for businesses to volunteer to have a social gathering for January 2010, March 2010, May 2010 and September 2010. If your business is willing to hold a social gathering for any of these months, please contact Tracy Black at 419-278-0000.  The Chamber Scholarship was awarded this year to Samatha Seemann.

We would welcome any other suggestions or comments, which you might have. If you have been a member in the past, the Chamber certainly appreciates your commitment to the community.  The Chamber board meets once a month on the second Monday at noon at the Villa Rose Restaurant.  All Chamber members are welcome to attend the meetings, but it is not required.  Some of the benefits of being a Chamber member are receiving group rates for insurance and workman’s compensation, Chamber Buck program participant, involvement in developing new businesses in town, philanthropic opportunities and small businesses working together can be stronger than working alone. If you are not a member of the Chamber, we encourage you to consider becoming one.
